Thomson Reuters Acquires E-learning Business from Knowledge Platform
LONDON, 10 October 2012 – Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced that it has acquired the governance, risk and compliance e-learning business of Knowledge Platform, a leading provider of compliance assessment and regulatory implementation learning programs within financial services and other highly-regulated industries in Asia and the Middle East. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition sees Thomson Reuters acquire both the operations and employees of the e-learning business of Knowledge Platform. Knowledge Platform’s portfolio of innovative online courses will be integrated into the Thomson Reuters Accelus global suite of products for governance, risk and compliance.
Thomson Reuters Accelus e-learning business has grown to deliver courses in 19 different languages to more than 500 clients and 600,000 users globally. This latest acquisition builds on Thomson Reuters recent acquisition of UK-based e-learning business, MHA, and the expansion of its offerings to include the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority's (FINRA) Firm Element CE e-learning courses.
