David Craig, president of Thomson Reuters Governance, Risk & Compliance, said that 2011 has been an extraordinary year for those in the vanguard of the financial services industry, and that the awards were an important part of celebrating and congratulating the culture of compliance.
“This is where we can honour the people who have made a true contribution to the industry, and who work hard to keep banking safe for their shareholders, safe for their customers, safe for their employees and safe for the economies whose lifeblood and growth is so dependent on a strong, healthy banking system,“ said Craig.
“Thomson Reuters Governance Risk & Compliance has made a significant investment in our Accelus suite in the last two years, and has tripled the size of the business in 18 months,” continued Craig. “This is helping to make the work of legal, risk, compliance and financial crime professionals easier and more effective, which ultimately allows them to deliver more impact for their businesses.”
